ChordMate Reference

Search Box

The Search Box is located at the top right of the screen.

If you already know the symbol for your chord (e.g. "Amaj7" for A Major 7th), simply type it into the Search Box and press Enter. ChordMate will immediately display the different voicings for your chord, and the name of the chord will appear at the top of the screen. In case you mistype the chord symbol, ChordMate will beep.

You can use 'b' or '!' to indicate a flat, and '#' to indicate a sharp. Thus "A#maj7" corresponds to A sharp Major 7th. After you press Enter, ChordMate will automatically replace 'b', '!' and '#' with real flat and sharp symbols; this works in all text fields that may contain accidentals.

Once you enter the chord root note, you can use standard completion (bound to F5 by default) to help you enter the chord shape:

A note of warning: the Search Box is case sensitive.
