ChordMate in Use

Teachers

Nothing beats a one-on-one session with an experienced teacher. ChordMate helps you make the most of the time you and your students have together.

  • E-Mail Homework. Ever heard the story of the student who really meant to practice this week, only he couldn't because he forgot how all the chords went? Yeah, so have we. That's why ChordMate lets you e-mail chord progressions to your students. They don't even need to purchase ChordMate. Just drag-and-drop chord diagrams directly into Mail or TextEdit. (If they do buy the program, you can e-mail them a chord progression file, so the students can hear how the chords should sound while they practice.)
  • Arrange Songs. Figuring out how to play a song well is hard enough, but as a teacher, you also have to make the arrangement sufficiently simple (or challenging!) for your students. ChordMate can help. You can work together with your students to try out different chords until you find just the right ones.
  • Put Chords Together.ChordMate helps illustrate how music theory applies in practice to real songs. You can show your students an entire chord progression as a series of diagrams and change it before their eyes. Soon they will be itching to try it themselves!
  • Prepare Ahead. Sometimes you find yourself playing the same song ten different ways with ten different students. You can save those chord progressions for later use -- and reuse. It sure beats starting from scratch when a student opens a songbook and says, "I want to play this."

In short, ChordMate is a great tool for guitar teachers!
